Summertime means fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers’ markets in our area!
There’s nothing better than strolling through the tables full of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, corn and lots of other locally grown items while visiting with your friends and neighbors.
We asked the Museum of Appalachia for some of their favorite summertime dishes and they shared their “Front Porch Salad”, “Fresh Green Tomato Casserole” and “Fresh Garden Casserole” recipes.
If you can’t make it to the farmers’ market, just stop by the Museum of Appalachia any day at lunch for something delicious from their garden!
